Thank you Imperial Bottle Shop & Taproom

When we were readying for the picnic, we realized we needed ice to keep the beer kegs cold since the keg place wasn’t open on Sunday. But then we had nowhere to store the ice except in the rental truck and it was hot out!  The new Imperial Bottle Shop and Taproom came to the rescue.  Not only did they help us in storing the kegs in their new walk-in cooler, but they assisted in helping us to save money in securing the beer and the wine for us.  In exchange, we promised to give them a little boost in the paper.  SE Division’s Imperial Bottle Shop opened in late July inside the D-Street Village building 3090 SE Division.  Owners Alex Kurnellas and Shawn Stackpoole’s taproom/bottleshop offers 16 beers on tap (highlighted on a digital board) and more than 200 bottles to-go. One need not take bottles to go since there is also a chiller and any bottle can be enjoyed on premise.  Add to that their variety of growlers, but also smaller size 6 packs that they cap from their taps and you can enjoy at home.  A new twist in enjoying craft keg beer at home!  What’s that you say? You don’t feel like a beer today? Well Imperial Bottle Shop also has a very wide selection of hard ciders and even some nice wines to choose from.  They plan to soon add house-made bar snacks (like beer nut mixes) to the menu, although patrons can enjoy food delivery from a few of the neighboring restaurants like Sunshine Tavern and Café Detour.

Maybe we’ll even see them offering some light acoustic blues in the future.  Imperial Bottle Shop is open now. Hours of operation: Monday through Thursday, noon to 10p.m.; Friday and Saturday, noon to midnight; Sunday, noon to 8p.m. Check them out on facebook or at www.imperialbottleshop.com
